– nine contestants vying for crown
The South Turkeyen Community Policing Group has for the first time, introduced a “Crowning of Miss Sophia” pageant. The event caters for females between the ages of 16 and 25. They will compete in a variety of categories.
The organizer said that the ultimate aim is to make the participants well-rounded individuals who can contribute to society in many ways.
Kaieteur News understands that the pageant which is slated for July 3, will see nine young and talented young ladies, being judged on their abilities to read, write comprehend, answer general knowledge questions and be able to captivate the crowd with their poise and posture as well as their intelligence.
There will be four judges in this competition, each to be the main judge for a particular platform, to ensure balanced and fair judging. On the night of the pageant, the top three females will be selected to answer one question each, will in the end, based on their response, determine the winner of the pageant.
The nine contestants, yesterday, visited Pegasus Hotel, where they began their photo shoot and rehearsals for their upcoming pageant.
The young ladies participating in this pageant are Trevonie Haynes, Keitesha Barclay, Nikedai Wishart, Roxanne Scott, Nacia James, Lovisa Da Silva, Natasha Walker, Shondell Bailey and Anasia Edwards.
