Mother, paramour and deportee also in custody
Quick action by Ranks attached to ‘B’ Division of the Guyana Police force led to the capture of a break and enter suspect and his cohorts, and to the recovery of over $1M in stolen items.
According to reports, thieves had broken into the Highest Grade Boutique and Washbay situated at Rose Hall Town and stole a quantity of name brand clothing, footwear, watches and other items valued over $1M, between May 27 and May 28, last.
The matter was reported and police, after diligent investigation, went in search of a suspect, Leroy Moore, of Rose Hall Town. Moore was recently released from Prison. When the man was spotted he was reportedly wearing one of the stolen items.
He was arrested and taken into custody.
The police said that he then revealed to investigators what transpired. They said that he also told investigators that he had sold most of the booty to a deportee, Lawrence Rodriguez, also of Rose Hall Town.
Rodriguez was subsequently arrested with most of the items.
Police, carrying out further investigations, moved in on Moore’s girlfriend, Melinda Ogle. She too was said to have been wearing some of the stolen items when she was seen. The police said that when she was approached she made a run for it and disappeared. However using their network, the police tracked her to the Upper Corentyne area, where she was arrested.
Moore’s mother was also arrested and is also in custody.
