In recognition of the culture and traditions of the Amerindians, the Walter Roth Museum of Anthropology in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport has set out to host two events aimed at showcasing and exploring aspects of the culture of the Makushi people (a tribe of Amerindians).
Kaieteur News understands that the Museum will facilitate a public lecture entitled “Becoming Human: Makushi Anthologies of Personhood in a Transnational Context” to be presented by Lucas C. de Carvalho, on Friday at 17:00 hrs. Following this will be the scheduled launching of the “Music of Makushi Guy Marco” on June 15 at 17:00hrs at the Umana Yana, Kingston, Georgetown.
CDs will be made available for sale after related presentations.
