…and suddenly all went quiet. No one in the opposition or among stakeholders or in the gossip circuits is talking about the connection of an American who got jailed last week for cocaine possession at the airport and his contacts with an entertainment company with massive ties to the corridors of power.
This outfit is crucial in this election period. The strategy is to get Guyanese all hyped up on entertainment so they can take their minds off of politics.
Don’t be surprised if you see two things happen before elections. One is to spend mega-bucks on getting either Beyonce or Rihanna to perform.
The money doesn’t matter. Even if Beyonce demands the same price that she got from Gaddafi’s son last year, they will pay.
The diva collected $US2M for singing just three songs. The comical dictators will pay that money because they foolishly believe it will fit into their election plan. The other is to fill the election period with a T/20 series involving superstars.
The second blueprint won’t work. Cricket superstars have no interest in playing in Guyana even for more than they collected in the recently concluded IPL. They know Guyana is backwater land with the capital city being the world’s nastiest and most foul smelling city.
Foreign people know about Guyana’s tragedy and they don’t come here. When the World Cup came here in 2007, New Zealand was playing in Guyana and their fans were sporting in St. Lucia. They came to the Caribbean to see the Black Caps play but they stopped short of coming to Guyana.
If the comical dictators put on a T/20 series to coincide with the national election, only West Indies stars would come. And unfortunately, West Indies cricket only has one T/20 prince at the moment – Gayle. Pollard and Bravo aren’t firing.
It is a scientific impossibility that Malinga, Tendulkar, Watson, Dhoni, and their colleagues would ever play in a T/20 here exclusively sponsored by the Guyana Government. The President will insist that Chanderpaul and Sarwan get some games but it is doubtful that spectators will persevere after the first four games.
It would appear that the best bet is on entertainment. Unfortunately, confusion nearly cost the comical dictators their plans because the drug mule got arrested at the airport. As we say in Guyana, “he bare his chafe.” This means that he didn’t talk
Feminition is the first in a long line of circus performances that will be put on as the election campaign heats up.
Feminition, of course, was an asinine affair. Here was a programme designed to heighten women’s consciousness and have among its chief protagonists, men with power who abuse their female partners in the most terrible and cruel of ways. In other words feminition was also about demolition, the demolition of women by powerful politicians.
There have been three suicides in the power establishment. I will not detain you with the details of the saga of Varshnie Singh There was the case of a woman kicked down the steps of the office on South Road by a member of the political elite. I have no doubt in my mind that Janet Jagan read “Dem Boys Seh” when she was alive and must have fainted when she heard who was the performer of the cruelty act on South Roads; one of her favourites.
One of the world’s most enduring exploiters of young girls is an aging religious figure that Papa Jagan discovered many, many moons ago.
The guy is still doing his thing even though old age has crept in. Feminition was a real joke. The only thing missing were the costumes for the clowns.
Male chauvinism is out of control in the land where the comical dictators are in full control yet these men put on a show called feminition. You mean demolition. Read on.
I had just completed a lecture at the Foreign Affairs Institute of the Foreign Affairs Ministry situated directly opposite the Office of the President (OP). As I approached my car, this tall gentleman came out of OP walked to my car.
He said; “So you’re the famous Freddie Kissoon, with that body how you manage to f… all dem women at UG?” Trust me! This man is a king in the land of the powerful. There will be more blazing entertainment extravaganzas because the comical dictators have a premonition that they will lose the election.
Poor Roger Khan! He didn’t make it to feminition. He became a victim of rendition.
