Re-fixed for June 11
The much anticipated Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inter Agency Softball 10/10 Cricket competition and Fun Day and exhibition games set for last Saturday at the Albion Community Centre ground was called off at the last moment due to the inclement weather.
According to the organisers the decision was taken to call off the activity after a visit was made to the venue and it was decided that the venue was too soggy after some recent rain to be used for the day’s activities.
It was then decided that the event will now be held on June 11 at the same venue weather permitting. No changes have been made to the day’s programme.
Teams scheduled to participate in this year’s tournament, which will be played under floodlights, are Demerara Bank, NBS, Republic Bank, Ainlim and Geddes Grant Combined, Oldendorff Carriers, Media Eleven, Memorex Enterprise, Guysuco, Metro Office Supplies, Demerara Distillers Limited, GT & T and Banks DIH.
While an exhibition hardball 10/10 cricket match between two of Guyana Top hardball cricket teams, Albion Community Centre and Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadget will also be played. Also on the cards is a featuring 10/10 Softball exhibition game between top softball teams Celebrity Times and Wolf Warriors.
