Modern Optical has renewed its sponsorship for the Annual Inter-Services Handgun competition billed for Sunday at the Timehri ranges.
The competing services are Guyana Police Force, Guyana Defence Force, Presidential Guard, Bank of Guyana Security, Queensway Security and a team from the Guyana National Rifle Association (GuyanaNRA).
Dr. Jose Da Silva, Managing Director of Modern Optical said he was pleased to sponsor the tournament for another year during the presentation of trophies to members of the GuyanaNRA at a simple ceremony at Company’s head office on Middle Street Wednesday.
Ryan Sampson GuyanaNRA Secretary said, Modern Optical continues to be a resolute supporter of the Association and he expressed gratitude on behalf of the Association.
Smallbore captain Dale Hing said the cream of the country’s handgun shooters would take part in the shoot, which starts at 09:00 hours at the Timehri ranges.
The Practical Pistol shoot will consist of three stages and three divisions. Last year divisional winners were Dr. Johan Da Silva ‘A’ division, K. Harripersaud ‘B’ and Gordon Richards ‘C’ class.
Also present at Wednesday presentation ceremony were Dr. Johan Da Silva of Modern Optical, Guyana NRA Treasurer Lt. Col. Terry Stuart and Public Relations Officer Troy Peters.
