The Castellani Swimming Pool, Homestretch Avenue is the venue for this weekend’s Independence Swim Meet organised by the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA).
The leading swimmers in the land, male and female are expected to collide from tomorrow until Sunday as they seek glory for themselves and clubs.
According to GASA, this Meet will also serve to identify athletes for Guyana’s Goodwill 2011 training squad.

The FINA rules will apply during this swim meet, unless otherwise noted, while to be eligible to participate, you must be a citizen born or naturalized. Non-Nationals may compete as guests having secured the approval of GASA.
The age groups are 8 & Under; 09 – 10; 11 – 12; 13 – 14; 15 – 17; 18 & Over.
The age of the competitors on 31st December, 2010 will determine the age-group in which they will be eligible to compete.
The Technical Meeting will be held tomorrow (Friday) at the Castellani Pool, Homestretch Avenue at 05:30hrs.
