Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira reigns supreme at Dover
Guyana’s Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira was in outstanding form as he raced to two first places and a second at the first leg of the Caribbean Motor racing Championship which was held on Monday at Dover Raceway in Jamaica.

Vieira, who had expressed confidence ahead of the Championship, was in dominant mood as he gained full points in two races and sets up an intriguing battle for the regional title in the remaining two legs in Barbados and Guyana respectively.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport via telephone from Jamaica yesterday, the local speedster said that it was a very good day for him and his team and extended thanks to them and his sponsor Sunburst Orange Juice.
“I would like to say thanks to Maurice (Menezes), who did a fantastic job in preparing my bike to suit the Jamaica Circuit, Marcel Profit, who tuned the bike and ensured that the ratio was perfect and most importantly my sponsor Sunburst Orange Juice that made my participation possible,” Vieira told this newspaper.
He added that he was a bit disappointed that he did not break the lap record, but was grateful for a good performance.
Meanwhile, reigning CMRC champion David ‘King’ Summerbell Jnr was also unstoppable racing to three wins from as many starts and maximum points to head into the next leg as firm favourite to retain his crown.
The multiple times champion came home ahead of Barbadians Mark and Doug Maloney, but no word of Guyana’s Kevin Jeffrey performance was available.
Jeffrey was runner-up in the CMRC last year.
