Alpha Football Club officials Steve Ninvalle and Gavin Brown attended the CONCACAF Champions League Conference in Miami on Monday and Tuesday of this week ahead of this week’s CFU tournament’s latter stage.
The conference was aimed at bringing the teams involved in the Champions League and those on the verge of qualifying up to speed with the rules and regulations relating to the tournament.
Apart from the Guyanese, representatives from Puerto Rico, Honduras, Mexico, United States, Canada, El Salvador, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago among others that have qualified for the event were present. The teams from Guyana, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago and Puerto Rico are in line to qualify and were invited to attend with those other countries that have qualified.
The participants, apart from the rules and regulations, dealt with issues relating to the media and sponsorship of the league among other important issues.
Ninvalle, who handles Public Relations for the club, and Brown, an Assistant Coach, now armed with the regulations of the league their team is attempting to qualify for today and Friday at the National Stadium, were due home last evening or today.
They will both be eager to see Alpha advance whether by finishing among the top three teams but more so winning the entire CFU tournament.
