A speeding police vehicle collided with a Rav4, PKK 9340 at the junction of Middleton Street and Campbell Avenue, Campbellville last evening.
None of the ranks were injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the Rav4 was travelling south into Middleton Street when the police vehicle that was speeding in Campbell Avenue slammed into the Rav4 causing the police vehicle to topple over.
At the scene the axle of the police pickup was broken and the front windscreen was damaged, along with the top of the vehicle.
“The police don’t have shame, the pick-up was turned over and they hurry to turn it back on it wheels. They turn up the number plate in front and they try to scratch off the police logo from the side so people wouldn’t notice…they must be think all these people around here stupid, they ain’t even had on siren, but is tax payer money got to fix the vehicle when they do stupidness,” one man said.
The driver of the Rav4 was asked by a police to visit the station to give a statement, while another police vehicle shuffle off the other damaged vehicle.
