People smiling. Dem happy. De impossible happen. Is not that de government giving away money.
De West Indies win a Test match against a team that used to hammer dem. When de match start people get vex because dem see how dem team perform just like old times. Mek li’l bit runs.
But when de team bowl out de other side fuh less dem realise that something magical might happen. Dem boys expect dem team fuh bat better and mek nuff more runs than de fuss time. Same story till a fresh Guyanese face start fuh bat at de end.
Wha mek dem boys mek noise was when de West Indies rock de other side when was de other side turn to bat. In de end de team win. Dem boys seh that de West indies team captain start fuh apologise fuh de loss and talk how de team try to put up a fight and how dem young. Is when a man pinch he that  he realise that he was de winner and then he talk bout how de team turning de corner.
One man seh that is de same way de Police Commissioner turning de corner.
From de time he go in de hospital people talk bout how he turning de corner. Some people even talk bout how he turn de corner and de next thing is everybody calling fuh find out if he dead.
Dem boys never hear a man dead suh much time yet. Was every day somebody announcing that de Commissioner dead. De man sick and deh in hospital. He eat plenty and de food tekking its toll. It affect de Commissioner foot and de man had to go in hospital. He still in hospital.
But dem boys want to know how come nobody ain’t giving information bout de Commissioner. Dem seh that when Papa Cheddi was sick in hospital in de States dem was getting information, even if was wrang information.
But in this case is no information. This wuss than a state secret. Even Brummell who acting fuh de Commissioner telling people how he ain’t know nutten.
Roger de Lunchman telling reporters how he ain’t hear nutten fuh a week. De Commissioner got to be a big man in more ways than one. He big in size and dem boys believe that he using he size fuh hide de information.
