The Steering Committee of the Berbice Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Guyana Table Tennis Association has organized a top 16 Table Tennis competition for players in Berbice.
The one day competition is slated for Thursday May 26, Independence Day, at the University of Guyana Berbice Campus beginning at 09:00hrs.
The top junior and senior players from Berbice have been invited to be a part of the tournament and are expected to slug it out for championship honours where the top four finishers will be presented with trophies and other incentives.
Officials from the Guyana Table Tennis Association are expected to be on hand to over see the proceedings and help with the distribution of the prizes.
Meanwhile, the association will use the opportunity to present the winners of the recently held Berbice Schools Table Tennis Tournament 2011, which was held during the month of April at the Berbice High School, with their prizes.

Boys 13 years and under

1st Joshua Lalbachan, 2nd Bryton Murray, 3rd Julian Haniff
Girls 15 years and under
1st Anita Alleyne, 2nd Joylyn Conway, 3rd Cristine Sorijpaul
18 years and under boys
1st Bryton Murray, 2nd Denison Mentore, 3rd Joshua Lalbachan
21 years and under open
1st Ian Bagot, 2nd Ryan Anderson, 3rd Luen David
Meanwhile, the following players have been invited to participate in the top 16 competition; Gibran Sarfaraz, Jermine Charles, Brentol Richards, Levi Nedd, Richard Bacchus, Anthony Bishop, Omraj Singh, Floyd Conway, Desiree Lancaster, Sherwin Sahadeo, Bryton Murray, Denison Mentore, Joshua Lalbachan, Ian Bagot, Ryan Anderson and Luen David.
