Children’s Home benefit as Scotia Bank support Kiddies Cricket Programme

Dozens of children from five children’s home will be much happier even as they are introduced to the intricacies of cricket after Scotia Bank in collaboration with the West Indies Cricket Board presented those institutions with cricket gear to facilitate the yearly Kiddies Cricket programme, at the Bourda Cricket ground yesterday afternoon.
While the programme is aimed at targeting several such institutions across the country later on, those that benefited from the initiative yesterday are the Hadfield Centre and Joshua House, situated in Hadfield and Thomas Streets Georgetown, respectively.
The programme is the highest sponsored and Scotia Bank has been the chief sponsor ever since its inauguration thirteen years ago. Among those officials present at the ceremony were K J Singh, Regional project Officer (WICB) and Marketing Manager of Scotia Bank, Jennifer Cipriani and Colleen Roberts, administrative assistant of the Hadfield Street drop in centre and Reon King, Territorial Development Officer (WICB) among others.
Ms Cipriani hailed the programme as greatly beneficially and further disclosed that her institution has identified several coaches from among the staff to augment the programme. She also said that her institution will facilitate the distribution of kits to branches countrywide to broaden the scope of the programme.
Subsequently, the children became engaged in activity on the Bourda sward even as cricket coach, Orrin Bailey put them through their paces.
