Led by a fine all-round performance from Keirre Henry (3-20 & 73 N.O) and an unbeaten half-century from Joseph Giddings, Tucber Park took first inning lead in their drawn semi-final against Albion to advance to the final of the Ricks & Sari Agro Industries Under-13 Cricket Competition in Berbice.
Albion took first strike were soon 19-2 with pacer Renaldo Adams picking up both wickets before they slipped to 40-4.
Left-arm spinner Gavin Moriah Jnr and off-spinner Keirre Henry snared three wickets each in quick succession as Albion fell for 72 as Devendra Lakeram top scored with 14. Gavin Moriah Jnr took 3-2, Henry 3-20 and Renaldo Adams 2-12.
When Tucber Park began their response, Veeren Ramoo took two wickets to leave the score on 21-2 before Keirre Henry and Michael Niamatali added 22 for the 3rd wicket. Niamatali fell for 8. Y. Sookraj came in and quickly fell to Ramoo at 46 for 4.
With two more wickets going down to leave the score on 46-4, Henry stood firm as he and Enoch Carmichael (25) saw Tucber Park safely past the crucial first innings target by putting on 43 for the 5th wicket before Carmichael departed.
With Albion fighting back, Henry and Joseph Giddings put on 104 in an unbroken 6th wicket stand to take Tucber Park to 193-5 when their 50-over first innings limitation expired. Henry ended unbeaten on 73 and Giddings 57 not out 7. Veeren Ramoo took 3-86.
Facing a first innings deficit of 129 with 90 minutes play left in the match, Albion reached 88-5 when the game was called off as offspinner Melroy Henry took 3-31.
