As the executives of the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) continue addressing developmental activities for their boxing affiliates, several boxers have been selected to represent this country at the Pan American Games box off scheduled for Panama from July 1-7.
Among them are junior/welterweight, Burt Braithwaite, light/heavyweight, Markember Pierre, bantamweight Keeve Allicock and lightweights, Stephon Gouveia and Marlon Daryll. The latter two boxers will be required to match gloves in a box off to determine the final choice.
President of the GABA, Steve Ninvalle disclosed that these boxers are also a part of the team currently undergoing training for the 2012 London Olympics. He also said that the performance of the local pugilists would enable his executive to evaluate their ability at the imminent forum.
Terrence Poole is the trainer of the squad while Eustace Cuffy is the Manager.
