Two armed bandits, on foot, robbed Giddings Payday pawn shop in Grove, East Bank Demerara of almost $100,000 in cash and a quantity of jewellery, yesterday.
According to reports, at 9:15 hours two men, who were armed with handguns, entered the business establishment and stuck up the male supervisor who was the lone staff at the time. The gunmen proceeded, and robbed the business of money and jewelry and made good their escape.
The two bandits who were not masked were described as tall and brown in complexion. The supervisor was taken into police custody to assist with the investigation.
Residents and businesses in the area seemed clueless as to what had transpired since they were unaware of any such robbery at the time.
