Dear Editor,
Minister Clement Rohee’s denial of allegations is questionable; no right thinking Guyanese would report a matter like that to the police about their boss [Minister Clement Rohee].
Too often we hear and read of allegations and strong denials coming from ministers, ministries and officials and many times offering no justifiable explanation, but more often display anti-social behaviour, it’s shameful and embarrassing to Guyanese. Accusing Consultant Balwant Persaud is nonsense, the Guyanese husband and wife success in obtaining refugee status in Canada shows what is really happening. The Canadian authorities don’t just issue refugee status without some justification, it must and will examine the facts before, and after establishing these facts, the laws then applied.
This is not the first nor would it be the last of this shameful behaviour by those in authority in Guyana. This government must stop the blaming game, 19 years is too far to be looking back, yes we criticise and condemn PNC governing which was replaced for this government to do better, but we will not condone this government and officials in lawless behaviour.
In 1992 the Carter Centre and International Organisations handed the Government to the PPP/C, they took an oath to correct and develop Guyana, to respect and to govern by the constitution of Guyana. Certainly all Guyanese dreamt of the golden opportunities awaiting them after the changes were made, but we now live in hell, abuse, corruption, discrimination, greed, intimidation etc. This is what Guyanese are getting from a loving, caring and concerned government.
A few words (no threats intended) to the wise it goes like this, [1] where their is smoke their is fire; [2] if you play with fire you will get burn; [3] you can hide from a thief not a lair; [4] a lair is a murderer; [5] and if you live by the sword you will die by the sword; please stop the shameful and embarrassing behaviour.
