Dear Editor,
It was widely publicised by the Government and GECOM that there would be a “Claims and Objections period” running from April into May, 2011, when persons who are omitted from the National Voters’ list could get themselves registered and when irregularities could be corrected.
GECOM has done nothing about this “Claims and Objections Period” so far and the PNCR, WPA, TUF, AFC, JP, ACDA, ROAR and that whole gang of groups posing as opposition parties have not uttered one word about this disenfranchisement threat on Guyanese voters.
Could the media now take on the mantle of responsibility which the opposition parties have thrown aside and correct their betrayal of the Guyanese voters?
Would GECOM say when this “Claims and Objections Period” will begin?
