Roraima Bikers will be staging its inaugural 60 Miles Cycle Road Race today following the sponsorship of Ansa Mc Al under its Tropical Rhythm brand. Ansa McAl formally handed over its sponsorship to Roraima Bikers’ President, Brian Allen on Friday.
The Race is schedule to roll-start from the compound of Ansa Mc Al Trading at Beterverwagting Industrial Site at 8am, proceed to Mahaicony through the Old Road, and return via the New Road to finish on the Beterverwagting Public Road in the vicinity of Ansa Mc Al.
However, the competitors in the Veterans and Upright/Mountain Bikes Category will proceed to Mahaica through the Old Road and return on the new highway to finish at Ansa Mc Al. The top finishers in the Juniors, Seniors, Veterans and Upright categories will all receive cash prizes, trophies and a Tropical Rhythm Champion Cycling Jersey.
Ansa Mc Al’s Marketing Assistant, Anjeta Hinds told Kaieteur Sport during the disclosure of the company’s sponsorship that the event was discussed since last year and the tropical rhythm brand was chosen because of the “upbeat” nature of the sport of cycling.
“It was something we discussed since last year, and we promised our support. Cycling is a bit of an upbeat and fun-filled sport that is why we chose Tropical Rhythm. It is expected to be a fun day,” Hinds said briefly at the company’s Beterverwagting Headquarters.
Allen thanked the company for their support and added that the race will be used as a warm-up for the three-stage race. He said that the race today will be a good place to make assessments of what will happen at the National Three-Stage Race.
