Bladen Hall man becomes country’s latest road fatality
The police are currently investigating a fatal accident which occurred about 21:00 hours on Friday, resulting in the death of a Bladen Hall security guard.
Reports are that some time after 21:00 hours on Friday, 30-year-old Lenpasco Leonalis Corlette was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
According to a police statement, the driver of motorcar, PKK 8430 along with occupant Dennis Solomon, 16, of Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, was proceeding on the Embankment Road when the vehicle collided with a heap of stone on the roadway.
As a result the driver lost control and struck down Corlette who was walking on the roadway.
Corlette and Solomon sustained injuries and were taken to the GPHC where Corlette was pronounced dead on arrival while Solomon was treated and sent away.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
