Corentyne woman fined for lying on neighbour

Ramwatie Rabindranauth, 48, of Race Course Dam, Port Mourant, who reportedly has a grudge against her neighbour, Tameshwar, was on Friday fined $25,000 or one month in jail after she was found guilty by Magistrate Fabio Azore of giving false information to the Police.
This allegedly happened on November  9, last year.
According to Prosecutor Corporal Roberto Figueira at the Whim Magistrate’s Court, the woman and her family did not know that her neighbour was at the Whim Police station doing maintenance work in the compound.
So they proceeded to the said station and made a report that Tameshawar  was  molesting her at her home.
The police took her report and proceeded to investigate the matter only to find that on the date and time in question the man was at the said Whim Police Station slashing the compound with his weedcutter.
