… Cobra and associate PI continues
Friday saw the continuation of the preliminary inquiry (PI) into one of the robbery under arms cases for which Tyrone Rowe, called ‘Cobra, and his associates Dwayne Critchlow and Amad Lallchand, aka Rondy have been charged.
Since the police instituted the charge they were unable to apprehend Dwayne Critchlow. The authorities have Critchlow’s address recorded as lot 54 Vigilance, East Coast Demerara.
The police are claiming that the trio while armed with a gun robbed Troy Collins of a quantity of gold jewelry before shooting him on his private area some time last year. Chief witness, Collins, was yesterday called by the prosecution to the witness stand to continue giving his evidence in chief.
Police Corporal, Venetta Pindar is representing the prosecution. Since the start of the (PI) Collins has been on the witness stand.
At the conclusion of Friday’s hearing, Pindar made an oral submission for the matter to be adjourned for continuation at a later date. Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry however made the PI returnable for May 17.
During one of the hearings, due to certain evidence Collins was relating, Cobra and Rondy who were seated in the prisoners’ dock accused the witness of lying to the court. This caused the Magistrate to sternly caution the visible upset suspects.
Cobra is slapped with numerous charges raging from murder to robbery underarms to damage of property.
For some of the charges even though they were bailable, the court did not allow Cobra bail. Hence he remains on remand.
Cobra is also facing another robbery under arms charge which is engaging the attention of Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
