Cricket lovers along the East Coast corridor are in for an entertaining weekend when a group of enthusiasts of the sport stages two matches on the Unity Ground today and tomorrow starting at 10:00hrs today.
One of the organisers revealed that the matches would be played in honour of Shivnarine Chanderpaul whose career in the West Indies team is at the crossroads following his omission from the current series against Pakistan in the West Indies.
The matches would be played between Tiger X1 and a team out of Unity.
Among some of those expected to participate in the match are national players Vishal and Krishna Arjune, Lallchand Persaud and West Indies U-23 player Hemraj Gharbarran.
The public is encouraged to come out in support of the teams and enjoy a day of fun.
