When rivalry in the Banks DIH Limited sponsored Guinness Greatest of the Streets Football competition continued in the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden on Wednesday night, Retrieve Unknowns made eased into the semi final and a step closer to copping the top prize of $400,000.
In a close battle against Amelia’s Ward Russians, Retrieve Unknowns made it into the final four ion penalty kicks. The game was tied at the end of regulation and extra time 3-3. And was also a close tussle from the spot, the victors triumphing 4-3 when the dust was settled.
The scorers for Retrieve Unknowns were Richard Bradford (12), Shakee Charles (15) and Darell George (26). Amelias Ward Russians got their goals from Dwayne Charles (15), Shawn Daniels (19) and Travis Watterton (29).
Coomacka took care of business against Speightland United by the odd goal in three. Atteba Edmonson with the double in the 1st and 15th minute guided Coomacka with the consolation for Speightland United coming off the boot of Micheal Ramdeholl.
In another epic, Eagles United triumphed over Attackers 4-2 on penalty kicks following a 3-3 regulation and extra time deadlock.
Eagles’ scorers were Dexter Smith (8), Dexter Sealey (23) and Trenton Lashley (27) while Attackers got theirs from Haron Halley (1st, 25th) and Troy Duncan (21).
Half Mile / One Mile were awarded their game against Goal Getters.
