Policeman shooting… Cops looking for two ‘known’ men

Police are trying to locate two known criminals in connection with last week Saturday’s $2M heist in which their colleague, Sergeant Ransford Liverpool, was shot.
Detectives appear positive that the suspects were part of the four-man gang that shot Liverpool and robbed businesswoman Jennifer Mohamed.
Police said the men have had several brushes with the law for armed robberies. They have been unable to locate the criminals since the attack.
Meanwhile, investigators have released a man whom they had taken into custody a few hours after the robbery.
The suspect, who is reportedly from East Coast Demerara, was taken into custody after persons alleged that he owns one of the two bicycles that the gunmen left at the scene of the shooting.
Liverpool, 30, was shot in the face and abdomen two Saturdays ago when he went to the assistance of Jennifer Mohamed, a cambio dealer’s wife, who was being robbed.
Police said that Mrs. Mohamed parked her car near Avenue of the Republic, exited the vehicle and was heading to Regent Street when four men on bicycles attacked her.
The bandits demanded a bag containing over $2 million and some documents and the woman complied which she handed over to them.
Police said that Liverpool was passing on his motorcycle at the same time and responded, resulting in an exchange of gunfire during which he was shot and injured.
He was shot in the right side of the face and in the right side of his abdomen. The second bullet exited through his left buttock
The wounded policeman returned fire, but by then the men who had already secured the cash had begun retreating.
Liverpool remains hospitalised.
Police recovered 16 shells from a 9mm handgun at the scene. It is believed that the shells came from Liverpool’s 9mm pistol, since the magazine was empty.
