Detective Assistant Superintendent Gary McAlister hands over the winning trophy to Trainee Shannon Aaron in the presence of partner Clifton Samuels and Coordinator Sergeant Jairam Ramlakhan.
The Felix Austin Police Training College (FAPTC) 25B contingent continued their winning ways with victory in the Whist competition when the Central Police Station Inter Service and Community Outreach Sports Programme continued during the week at the Central Police Station Recreational Hall.
The Training School 25B pair of Shannon Aaron and Clifford Samuels got the better of their 24B counterparts Yulet Mars and Anil Rampersaud eight games to four in the 12 game contest which saw eight teams competing overall.
The champion pair received the winning trophy from Detective Assistant Superintendent Gary McAlister in the presence of Superintendent Ian Amsterdam, Assistant Superintendents Rishi Dass and James Castello and Inspector Yonnette Stephen.
The Central Police Operational Outreach Programme and Youth Club has started 2011 with a bang following the successful completion of a number of competitions and Community Outreach Programmes.
Completed to date is a Twenty20 softball competition which was won by the Guyana Fire Service following victory over Central Police Station Youth Club; 5-a-side football which was won by the Felix Austin Training School’ 25B team and a domino tournament won by FAPTC 24B.
The activity was organised by Station Sergeant Jairam Ramlakhan – Coordinator of the Central Police Station Sports, Community and Outreach Programme. According to Ramlakhan other games will also be played shortly.
