Arch rivals Lower Corentyne and New Amsterdam/Canje will today clash in the final of the National Communications Network Inter Zone Under-15 tournament at the Cumberland Ground, Canje.
The match which would be played on a one day two innings basis is expected to be highly competitive with both teams featuring talented players.
In order to have a winner, the first innings of both teams would be restricted to 50 overs.
Lower Corentyne would be led by all-rounder Sharaz Ramcharran with support in a strong batting line-up from opener Nicholas Cameron, R. Harripersaud, Brandon Prashad, Arif Chan and Manoj Looknauth. Leading the bowling is medium pacer Looknauth along with off spinners Arif Chan, Ramcharran, David Latchaya Daniel Lewis.
New Amsterdam/Canje’s quest for top honors would be spearheaded by first round centurion Shimron Hetmyer, Hakeem Hinds, Leon Andrews, Shemroy McKenzie, Kierre Henry and Gary Millington. Pacers, Nial Smith and Martin Singh will lead the bowling attack with backup from spinners, Kierre Henry, Leon Andrews and Royden Ifill.
The match starts at 9:30hrs.
