With just one discipline left to be contested, East on 90 points lead the West on 85 after the completion of four of the five disciplines of the Women on the Move / Mackenzie Sports Club Cavalcade of Sports which was held on Saturday, at the MSC ground.
Sprint sensation Winston Caesar comes home ahead of Marlon Moshett (partly hidden) and B. Campbell in the 200 metres.
In the athletics segment, outstanding performances were recorded by Winston Caesar, who blitzed to victory in the 200 metres and finished second in the 100 metres sprint, Leana Fields, who captured the 100 metres dash and ended runner-up in the 200 metres and third in the 400 metres, Laniese Dennis, who claimed the 200 metres and occupied the runner-up spot in the 100 and 400 metres, Tyshon Bentick, who captured the 800 and 1500 metres and ended runner-up in the 400 metres, Althea Byass, who won the Shot Put and Discus events and Ronald Payne, who also dominated the Shot Put and Discus.
Despite being named the overall winners of the athletics event, Tyshon Bentick with 28 points and Laniese Dennis 26 both of the East were voted the champion athletes.
Meanwhile, the basketball event will be played on a date to be announced.
