President of the Emanie Netball Club Warren Wilson in an e-mail to Kaieteur Sport expressed sympathy on behalf of the club to the family and friends of the late netball player Shondel Samaroo, who died early Tuesday morning following a tragic accident.
Samaroo was a former member of the club, before forming here own club last year.
The following is the text of the message:
It is with great sorrow and pain in my heart that I express deepest sympathy on behalf of the Emanie Netball Club to the relatives of Ms Shondel Samaroo.
After being introduced to the game of netball in 2006 as a part of the Bank of Guyana team, Shondel seeing the need to expand on her growing skills in the game joined Emanie.
Her passion for the game and her paramount organisational skills saw her being voted as the club’s President for the period 2008-2009. During that time, although new to the game, she displayed the characteristics of a true leader and champion.
A testimony to her growing love and commitment to the sport was the founding of her netball club in 2010 namely Eagles.
Samaroo strong objectivity and seemingly girlish attitudes will certainly be missed at all forums of the sport.
May her soul rest in peace.
