Conquerors to clash with Campton for $1 Million & Title
The organisers of the Mayor’s Cup Football finals are promising improved facilities for the three big games on April 21 at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground as Conquerors and Camptown go head to head for the prestigious title and the one million dollar first prize put up by President Bharrat Jagdeo.
The runner-up will take home $500,000 compliments of Body Max Gym, while reigning Kashif and Shanghai and National Super League champions Alpha United will come up against Pele for the $200,000 third prize in what is being described as a ‘grudge match from the last Kashif and Shanghai tournament.
The loser of the third-place game will collect $100,000 while the afternoon’s proceeding will kick off with an exhibition encounter between New Amsterdam United and GDF.
The Organisers disclosed that more seats for the spectators, better lights and improved lavatory facilities for Ladies have been put in place for what is anticipated to be a large turnout.
Fans can use both the North Road and Regent Street entrances to the ground, admission fee is $1,000 and the final is schedule to commence at 21:00hrs
Among the sponsors for what promises to be a pulsating evening of Football are Digicel, Banks DIH and Giftland Office Max while National Pride, General Equipment, Gold Target Export, Bakewell, CIDI, Nazar Mohamed, Rusal, John Fernandes, Courtney Benn, Muneshwar’s Travel Agency, BK International and the Guyana Lottery Company are also on board as Corporate partners.
