Dear Editor,
A visit to the Female Surgical Ward of the Georgetown Hospital left me in disgust and disbelief when I visited a friend there a few days ago.
While chatting with her in one of the rooms where she was admitted, I noticed a small roach crawling on the wall by the cupboard where her flask and other items were placed, I ignored it for a split second, only to see another then another and believe me yet another roach crawling around and between the items there.
I asked my friend in disbelief what was going on, only to hear at that precise moment another person at the bedside of the next patient in the room complaining about the number of roaches he had seen among the other patient’s belongings on the cupboard.
This is a very serious matter and should be dealt with by the Ministry of Health immediately.
