The Rising Sun Turf Club at Arima Park West Coast Berbice is the venue for that entity’s grand one day pre Easter Horse race meet.
Over 65 of the countries top race horses had taken entry in what is expected to be an action pack day of racing. Nine races are listed on the day’s programme. Incentives totaling over $3.5M in cash and trophies are up for grabs during the days programme.
Banks DIH Limited headlines the list of sponsors that have come on board so far with Digicel, Jumbo Jet Auto sale, Cummings Electrical, Romell Jagroop Construction, Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice, Hablaw’s Meat Centre of Georgetown, Dalip Trading, Toucan Industries and Poultry supplies, Sheriff racing stables and Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market are some of the other business that will be a part of the day’s programme.
The feature event is for horses classified B and lower and is sponsored by Banks DIH Limited over a distance of 1300M. An impressive line up has been entered for the coveted $450,000 winners money and trophy and among them are the Message, Fairly Landing, Prince Charming, Night Crescendo, Marathon man, Wad A Luck, Gullium, Miss Orientate, King Maker and Delmur Gold.
Horses such as Sabrina Joy, Princes Yasmin and Better than Gold are among those entered for the three year event for animals Bred and Born in Guyana and the West Indies which has a winning prize tag of $250,000.
The battle for the champion locally bred three year old animals will continue with Super Cat, Wicked Intention, Apostle, Royal Salute and Million Dollar Man down to go at each other again for the $200,000 winning money and trophy and trophy.
The first horse to reach the finishing pole in the E Class event will take home $180,000 and trophy.
The G and lower showdown will see the top animal receiving $150,000 and trophy.
The H winner will race away with $140,000 and trophy. The ‘I’ and lower event will see the winner carting off $130,000 and trophy.
There is an event for animals classified I3 and lower and those with one win. The winner will run away with $120,000and a trophy.
The K and lower matchup and will see the winner receiving $90,000and a trophy.
The champion jockey, champion trainer and champion stable will all receive trophies among other prizes compliments of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the Rising Sun Turf Club.
Race time is 13.00 hrs. Proceeds go towards charity.
