– congratulates U-19 cricketer Khan on WI selection
Everest Cricket Club recently returned home after participating in an invitational tournament in Suriname.
The visit formed part of a four-team competition that was held to mark Suriname’s application for associate membership with the ICC.
Everest defeated the Surinamese national team by eight wickets.
Suriname took first strike and made 87-9 off the allotted 20 overs with Raj Nanan picking up 3-18 and Christopher Surat 2-16.
In reply, Everest reached 91-2 off 12.4 overs with national T20 player Lennox Cush leading the way with an unbeaten 54, while Chanderpaul Hemraj supported with 23.
Cush was later named Man-of-the-Match.
Among those witnessing the game were ICC representatives Tim Anderson, Keith Oliver and WICB rep. Lance Gibbs.

Meanwhile, the club has extended best wishes to one of its cricketers Amir Khan, who was selected on the West Indies Under-19 team to tour Dubai.
Khan, along with fellow Guyanese Kwame Crosse has been selected to represent the region.
A release from the club stated that on behalf of the members, they are in support of his selection and wishes him the best on the tour, adding that they hope he and teammate Crosse do well and make Guyana proud.
