Bill Express Marketing Assistant Nadine Luthers hands over the cheque to Regional Chairman Region No. 7 Holbert Knights.
Grace Kennedy Remittance Services (Guyana) Ltd. – the local agent for Bill express, for the second year will be sponsoring the Bartica road race – one of the main highlights of the annual Bartica Easter Regatta scheduled this year for Saturday April 6th to Monday April 25.
Yesterday the company handed over items totaling $100,000 to Regional Chairman Holbert Knights towards the successful hosting of the event.
Included in the items were trophies for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in the male and female categories; 50 Bill Express sports vests and a cheque for $46,000 which will be used to offset other related expenses.
Marketing Assistant Ms. Nadine Luthers in handing over the items pledged the company’s continued support and noted that it was their way of giving back to the community through such events, and to the development of sports in the society.
Luthers said that this was the second year the Bill Express has decided to sponsor the Bartica Regatta Road Race which has attracted several spectators and participants over the years.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Bartica, the Regional Chairman thanked GKRS for the significant and invaluable input it has made to the growth and development of the Bartica Regatta activities over the years. Knights said that the one mile race usually sees about 30 persons taking part each year.
