The young and the old combined to ensure Police beat Everest by three wickets on Sunday in the latest round of the GCA second division two-day cricket competition.
Eighteen-year-old Ameer Mohamed smashed 13 fours and five sixes in a splendid 110 while Retired Assistant Commissioner Ovid Glasgow, who celebrates his 66th birthday on Thursday, captured eight wickets with his off-spin to lead the Police charge.
Police batted first and made 276 with Mohamed making a century and Alvin Sukraj taking three wickets for Everest who were bowled out for 161 with Glasgow, a former Guyana First-Class cricketer and the oldest player in GCA cricket, taking 4-34.
Asked to follow on, Everest were bowled out for 212 in their second innings with Sukraj scoring 52 as Glasgow, who played four First-Class matches between 1966 and 1972, grabbed 4-48 to claim match figures of 8-82.
Set 98 to win, the Lawmen reached 101-7 with Munilall Persaud hit six sixes and a four in 45 to lead the victory charge. (Sean Devers)
