Dear Editor,
President Jagdeo is now describing Mr. David Granger who is 65 as an old man, and in the same breath he describes Mr. Donald Ramotar who is 61 as a young man. His forked-tongued flight of fancy is executed in the context of his attempts to sell the 61-year-old Ramotar as pro-youth, as opposed to the 65-year-old Granger whose age is an obstacle to his being able to similarly connect with the youth of our country.
Jagdeo is obviously loosing it if he thinks that the youth of Essequibo (and the country) will buy this unadulterated miasmic substance (Freddie’s creation!) he is trying to pass off to them in his snake-oiled manner.
Someone should tell him about us Essequibians! We may be simple people but we will not fall for the con this time around, except those of us who have chosen to sell our souls to the devil and his band of anti-Robin Hoods. Of what relevance is Mr. Granger’s age to his candidacy in the upcoming elections and tenure as President of Guyana if the PNC wins?
One of our courageous journalists should ask President Jagdeo to share with the Guyanese people his views on the competency of the Jagans, while in office who were well into to their seventies, Ancient by their “ideological grandson’s” standards, when they both became president. Your slip is indecently showing, Mr. President!
With this latest outburst, Jagdeo may have unwittingly provided us with the reason for his abject and inept performance as our head of state in the last 10 years. When he was selected by Janet Jagan to replace her after she resigned the presidency many felt that she had chosen a boy to do a man’s job!
It turns out that they were right; not only did she choose a boy to do a man’s job but she choose one who is a delinquent! Those who know Janet and her much vaunted deep love and devotion to the country know that she would never, never foist such a disaster on her dearly beloved country! (Or would she?) So how did her decision turn out to be such a tragic mistake for her party and the country?
The only explanation that readily comes to mind is that her ability to reason and make such a serious decision was naturally impaired by her advanced age, (ancient by Jagdeo’s – her protégé – standards); hence, she only saw the seemingly compliant little boy whom she thought she could manipulate and not the vicious incompetent who now runs the country.
Put another way, she was naturally vulnerable to “Granny’s Syndrome”; the inability to see beyond the seeming innocence and innate goodness of their grandchildren, in this case, her “ideological grandson”, The Bueser-in-Chief. This must give food for thought to those who are looking for answers to Jagdeo’s horrible performance and increasingly erratic and irrational outbursts as he exits the presidency.
Jagdeo’s passing of the mantle to Ramotar is an ominous sign for the Guyanese people. In all her wisdom, Janet Jagan, the Ideological Architect and Matriarch of the PPP passed the mantle of leadership on to Jagdeo and look at how he has immoralised and impoverished our country.
Are we to believe that Jagdeo’s hand-picked successor, Ramotar, will be any better? I am urging all patriotic Guyanese, especially those who still support the impostors who have very severely damaged Cheddi Jagan’s legacy, to reject the PPP at the next elections, even if it means staying at home on Election Day.
The leaders of the party have never been interested in promoting social justice, equality for all and economic well-being of the people. All they have been interested in is stealing the money from the people and taking advantage of them, sometimes in the most vicious and malicious manner. Everyone knows this!
