The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club in its continued drive to promote sports as an alternative to a life on the road for youths has made another significant contribution to a sports organisation.
On Sunday last, President of the nation’s leading youth and sports NGO, Mr. Keith Foster handed over $140,000 worth of trophies and a bale of male clothing to the President of the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA), Gregory Rambarran.
The present administration of the BVA is doing a great job of promoting the game in the Ancient County and Secretary/CEO of the RHTY&SC, Hilbert Foster informed that his club was delighted to invest in volleyball especially as the tournament would be played during Youth Week in the month of May.
He challenged the Berbice Volleyball Association to uphold its high standard and to always be above board in all its work.
Assistant Secretary/CEO of the Club Nermala Sewdat pledged their continued assistance in the future providing the first tournament is well organised.
She also disclosed that the bale of male clothing was worth $100,000 and would be used by the BVA to do some charity work.
Ms. Sewdat also disclosed that Basketball would be the next sport to benefit from the next outreach programme of her club.
BVA President Gregory Rambarran, who enjoys a close and cordial relationship with the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, expressed gratitude to the Club and pledged that the Youth Week Volleyball tournament would be a great success.
