International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Course Conductor, Richard McAfee handed over a quantity of equipment to the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) that is to be used for the further development and proliferation of the sport across Guyana.
Among the items that were donated to the local association were a number of rubbers, blades and competition balls. The support is expected to boost the inventory of the association following the STAG Grant last year that also included quantities of equipment.
GTTA President, Commissioner of Police, Henry Greene, received the donation from the United States of America Table Tennis (USATT) National Coaching Advisory Committee. He vowed to ensure that the items are put to good use among players and coaches.
McAfee is Chairman of the USATT National Coaching Advisory Committee and author of Table Tennis, Steps to Success, which is one of the sport’s masterpieces. He is in Guyana to conduct an intense Level I Table Tennis Coaches’ Course, which ends Monday.
