All speculations about foul play being involved in the death of 23-year-old Junior Mc Callum have been put to rest following a post mortem examination.
On Sunday last, Mc Callum, of Westminster Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara, was found floating in the Canal Number One Conservancy.
A post mortem revealed that he died as a result of drowning. The post mortem was performed by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh.
On Sunday last the man left his home for work but never made it. His mother with whom he lives received a telephone call at around 14:30 hours the very day saying that his body was found in the conservancy.
The woman had told this publication that she suspected foul play since her son always maintained that he was not a swimmer and hated water.
Relatives told this publication that Mc Callum was employed at National Hardware, and whenever there was no work being done, he and his friend from work would normally “lime” around the place.
“His friends have to know what happened to him if they were together.”
