Dear Editor,
It seems to me from most of his letters that Mr. Vishnu Bisram has a bone to pick with Kaieteur News columnist Freddie Kissoon and he has every right to do so. But he has a problem. Some of the same things he accused Freddie of doing he does himself.
And he does so in a sneaky way by hiding behind the likes of Kaieteur News Editor Adam Harris and others as if to pretend that he is not the only one critical of Mr. Freddie Kissoon. If this is what you want the public to believe then it will not fly because the readers of Kaieteur News in particular and Guyanese in general, are very smart and can read between the lines, a common phrase used by Mark Benschop.
Mr. Bisram prides himself on his narcissistic belief that he knows everything and that he is always right but then with the same breath accuses Freddie Kissoon of doing the same. Mr. Bisram should stop being a hypocrite and be real. This is why Freddie Kissoon is who he is, he is not a fake. He tells it as it is and is not fearful of criticisms.
Attack Freddie if you so desire, it is your journalistic right to do so, but promise the readers that you would not hide behind others if you do. You are signaling to them that by your own insinuations you are afraid to criticise Freddie Kissoon independently. Stop the charade, Freddie is not beyond reproach or above criticism and if he is wrong, then he should be admonished and move on.
Do not harp and rejoice in one’s misgivings or unfortunate circumstances. Remember, we are God’s imperfect creatures. This does not suggest by any stretch of the imagination that I am accusing Mr. Freddie Kissoon of any wrong doings. Freddie presented his side of the story and so was Kaieteur News, and you know what, I have tremendous respect for both Freddie Kissoon and Adam Harris as persons with great intellect and wisdom and Kaieteur News as a distinguished and reputable organisation so I leave them to fight their internal battles. Who wins, wins.
Unlike, you and Stella, I am not that foolish to get involve in any conflicts among the journalistic staff at Kaieteur News, especially between Editor Adam Harris and columnist Freddie Kissoon. It is like me taking hot pepper and putting it in my eyes or pouring acid on my skin.
So Mr. Bisram, rather than telling Freddie that he should emulate Dr. Jeffrey, I think with all due respect, you should do as well. To instruct one to do something that you would not do is hypocritical and deceptive. Like many others, you should lead by example and follow your own instincts. Time will tell. And one more thing, Freddie Kissoon has a deep conviction that makes him who he is.
