Hosts and winners of the West Coast Zone Wolf Warriors will be favoured to continue its winning streak when they take on Leguan Superstars as Super 16 action in this year’s GT&T 10/10 Cricket Competition commences today, at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground. The West Coast based team will start as favourites to advance to the next round, but word is that the side from the Essequibo Islands are no pushovers and a keen and tense rivalry is anticipated.
Another interesting battle is expected in the Speedboat Sports Club versus Sandust XI matchup with the latter holding a slight edge according to the pundits.
The female action should also produce some exciting matches with the in-form Trophy Stall Angels of West Coast favoured to advance at the expense of Linden’s All Star Conquerors, but as many would know the game is not over until the final ball is bowled.
In the day’s full schedule:
Male-
Coomacka Mines United – Linden Winner versus Adventure Sports Club – South Essequibo winner
Speedboat Sports Club – West Bank winner versus Sandust XI – Lower East Coast winner
Affiance Storm – North Essequibo winner versus Bush lot Challengers – West Coast Berbice winner
