Up to press time yesterday police were still to make an arrest in relation to the stolen car saga in which a LRO employee has been fingered.
This newspaper was told that the man fingered as the mastermind in the incident may be trying to flee the jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the owner of the car Zamar Alli Hussain said he has every intention of taking the matter all the way despite the fact the LRO employee has offered to settle the matter.
On Wednesday morning last, after returning to his Atlantic Garden home, Hussain noticed that the Toyota Allion which was parked on his parapet was gone. The matter was immediately reported to the Sparendaam Police Station.
On Thursday after an advertisement was placed on the television, Hussain received a call saying that his car was parked under a house in Meadow Bank.
Initially when he arrived at the location Hussain was told that the car which was covered under the house was a Premio and not an Allion.
“We decided to take off the cover and then we see it was the Allion…The man who was at the house said that the car belonged to his friend who worked at the Licence Office.”
Hussain said that when he contacted the GRA employee, the employee told him that the car was bought in Suriname and only needed to be registered.
“He tell we that he didn’t know who he was talking to. Is when he realise that I was the owner of the car then he say he want to return the car and settle the story.”
The car has since been lodged at the Sparendaam Police Station and investigations are being conducted.
