Police on Saturday night arrested a man in whose possession they unearthed an unlicensed firearm, a quantity of drugs, cash and jewellery following a chase through the street of Bel Air.
A statement from the police yesterday said that at about 21:10 hours on Saturday, ranks of a TSU anti-crime patrol responded to a report of threats involving the use of a firearm.
They managed to intercept the driver of motor vehicle PJJ 8117 at Eping Avenue, Bel Air Park.
During a search of the vehicle an unlicensed .32 Taurus pistol with 15 matching rounds was found.
A search was subsequently conducted on the home of the man at Garnett Street, Kitty, where a further eighteen .32 rounds were found along with an unlicensed .38 Taurus revolver with two matching rounds, a quantity of suspected cocaine, a quantity of suspected marijuana, a quantity of assorted gold jewellery and cash which were taken into police possession.
The man is expected to be charged shortly.
