Dear Editor,
I am responding to the nonsense dished out by several senior members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) for not performing their duties as required by oath.
On numerous occasions when ministers of the government and senior members of the PPP broke the law, some senior police officers go to great lengths to defend their actions even though they were in the wrong.
The GPF whoops!! Did I say the GPF, I mean the PPP Police Force under Commissioner Henry Greene has abandoned its solemn oath to serve and protect all without prejudice or bias.
It is regrettable that senior members of the GPF including Greene have ignored the principles of good policing and instead opted to do the bidding of Jagdeo and his cabal.
Today, there is more than enough evidence to suggest that the GPF led by Henry Greene is just as corrupt as the Jagdeo regime. Corruption breeds corruption.
The GPF is supposed to be an impartial, non-political institution which has been infiltrated by Jagdeo and the ruling cabal who consider themselves the “untouchables.”
The Force has surrendered its independence by becoming the ‘PPP Police Force; and hence the security arm of Freedom House. Its motto “to protect and serve the public” should be changed to “protect and serve Jagdeo and PPP untouchables.”
Everyone in the GPF, from Henry Greene to the lowest rank has accepted their new role in society to protect the untouchables, their families, and other members of the PPP. Where are the Paul Slowes of the force?
Mr. Jagdeo and the PPP have corralled the security forces including the GDF that are supposed to be independent entities obligated under oath to defend the state and all Guyanese.
I have included the GDF because army personnel normally work with the PPP Police Force to solve crimes throughout the country.
So by association, the army is also corrupt and guilty of abandoning its oath and therefore should probably be renamed the PPP Defence Force.
Today, almost everyone in Guyana knows that the security forces have abandoned their oath to serve and protect all and instead have been brought under the yoke of Jagdeo and his corrupt PPP.
The PPP Police Force and the Guyana Defence (PPP) Force under Commodore Gary Best have subjugated themselves to become the stooges of Jagdeo’s regime.
Shame on those shameless police officers, who continue to ignore their oath and operate like robots. It is time for you to honour the oath you took and stand up for what is right. The mere fact that these officers are not making just and fair decisions is a violation of their oath.
It is these very police officers who had the gall to imprison Freddie Kissoon and Mark Benschop for a minor traffic offence. Shame on those shameless police officers. By now you should know that you are being used and abused by the corrupt PPP regime.
Police officers should not allow anyone to tell them who to charge and not charge. But then again, what else can the Guyanese public expect from the PPP Police Force?
Their behaviour is characteristic of those who were considered house slaves during a period which is viewed as the darkest in human history.
Are there any more Paul Slowes in the PPP Police Force? If so, when are you going to stand up for what is right? It is time for you to rebuild your image and preserve whatever pride and dignity is left.
As police officers you should wear your badges with pride, honour, dignity, and respect and do what the oath says. And one more thing, please ignore Jagdeo’s order to “shoot to kill.” Only barbarians do. Decent human beings do not.
