Mar 25, 2011 Letters
Dear Editor,
Prem Misir’s letter of March 23 again shows this man trying to ‘analyse’ the Middle East and referring to my letter critical of him. I will keep saying the same thing: we, the citizens want to hear from Misir about the deplorable situation at the University of Guyana, since he is paid by all of us and is a ‘big shot’ with a big fancy office, while the Registrar of UG, Mr. Vincent Alexander, who has done a lot more for UG than Misir, has a little ‘squingy’ office where he can barely function.
This man refuses to write about the problems and solutions at UG, but he wants us to listen to his diatribe about the Middle East, even referring to my brief letter and inferring that I made “sweeping remarks”, but leaving out my original call for him to write about UG.
Mr. Editor, Mr. Misir questions President Obama’s judgement and even has the temerity to suggest that Mr. Obama’s position on Yemen is “half baked”! Here is a man who can’t even bring any positive changes at our University with his big position, his big fancy office and his big staff, all paid for by us and he has the nerve to criticise President Obama, who is giving light and hope to a tormented Middle East.
The PPP government should fire Misir as he is an embarrassment to this country because everyone knows of his attachment to this government as a spin doctor and political hack; President Obama is a great president and is doing everything the correct way, managing the Libyan, Yemeni and other places of unrest as a great statesman and with a clear-cut vision of what is to be done to bring democracy to that region.
What does this spin doctor, Misir, think about the government allowing only one radio station and they own it, lock, stock and barrel? Bet you his answer will be half-baked.
What about better conditions at UG, like a bigger office for Mr. Alexander and I bet you his answer will be half-baked. What about the flooding at Mahaica and the deplorable conditions in the MMA? Bet you his answer will be half-baked. What about the crime in this country which is demoralizing the nation? Bet you his answer will be half-baked.
Mr. Editor, here is a half-baked political hack accusing President Obama of being half-baked. What a joke!
