De rainy season exposing nuff shoddy wuk. Road collapsing and dem bridge developing hole. Is like if is sheer dry weather wuk dem contractor does do.
But dem boys realize that is one easy way fuh dem contractor to mek money because once de rain come de government got to repair wuk that done at great cost.
De other day a man walking down de road and he fall in a hole that suddenly appear. That is why dem minibus decide to increase dem fares because dem at risk and every day de risk does get bigger.
Dem people who does operate de Transport and Harbours boat seh that dem got to hike dem fares. If people like travel wid de Big boat dem does get knock off. Judges and magistrate must travel by speedboat. Dem boys seh that Guyana is de only country wheh this does happen.
Anywhere else judges and magistrates does deh separate from people because of de fear of contamination. But de judiciary want de magistrate to sit next to prisoner and next to people who got to appear before dem. This is a recipe fuh tekking bribe but de commission seh that is alright.
And is not that de courts got dem own boat. To mek matters worse, de judge or de magistrate can’t tek a special hire. De judiciary quick fuh holler how it don’t have money.
Dem boys seh that dem now understand why dem judge never used to go out of town fuh dem retreat. Nuff of dem frighten speedboat. But since one magistrate get knock off de rest grinding dem teeth and preparing fuh hold on to each other if dem have to go to Essequibo. Certain big ones guh go by plane though.
