The country’s leading word formers will spring into action for the 2011 season when the Guyana Association of Scrabble Players host its annual Phagwah Open Competition tomorrow at the Malteenoes Sports Club, starting from 10:00 hrs.
According to a release from the Organisers, among those anticipated to participate in the event are Orlando Michael, Frederick Collins, Colin Chichester, Ewart Adams, Yvonne Murray, Carlton Murray, Rudolph Michael, Moen Gafoor, Ulric Harris and Michael Benjamin.
A keenly contested day of action is in the making as players seek to start the season on a positive note, while some may also want to send early signals of intent.
Participants are being urged to show up at the venue early for a prompt start.
