The inclement weather has put paid to the plans the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) had of staging their DDL sponsored Diamond Mineral Water one day open Beach Volleyball competition which was slated for today Sunday March 20 at the No.63 Beach.
The competition, which was previously postponed due to the inclement weather, was expected to see all the top teams from the ancient county in action including Rollers, Port Mourant Training Centre, Port Mourant Jaguars, and Defenders, Albion, Eaglets, Skeldon and Falcons as well as some school teams among others.
According to reports all the teams were in top shape and an action pack day was anticipated, but the teams are all disappointed.
The association, which was recently resuscitated, has so far held a number of tournaments in the Ancient County including first and second division, School and exhibition competitions. The competition will be played later.
Trophies as well as cash incentives were available for the top teams and outstanding individual performers.
