Bail was granted on the condition that Baptiste report to the Brickdam Police Station every Wednesday and Friday.
The police then brought William Pickett before Magistrate Beharry, claiming that Pickett stole a quantity of scrap metal valued $30,000 – property of Patrick Fraser.
The accused who was unrepresented pleaded not guilty.

It was then that Fraser learnt from a next door neighbour of the occurrence and ventured to the scene. Upon the plaintiff’s arrival, he observed the men attempting to steal the items. After seeing Fraser, Pickett and his associates escaped.

“Meh worship where I live have no lot number ‘cause dem people come and change up everything”. He further explained to the court that he resides at Plastic City Squatting Area.
