Police Constable 18170 Baldeo remained under close arrest at the Leonora Police Station yesterday as police continued to investigate his alleged stabbing of Parika resident, Clyde Daniels.
A senior police official told Kaieteur News yesterday that investigators are still to question the injured man and are also taking statements from eyewitnesses.
Daniels has been transferred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital and his condition has reportedly improved.
According to reports from Parika, Daniels was drinking at a Parika restaurant when he became involved in an altercation with a policeman.
The policeman, identified as Constable Baldeo, then stabbed Daniels in the neck with a broken bottle.
The injured man was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital before being transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
